Perfectly Prepped Role Models

I know I have been absent for a while (craaaazy job) but I have been thinking about what post I wanted to do next, and I have landed on role models for the everyday girl! I have always followed different bloggers on instagram and pinterest but really reading their blogs and learning more about them I have come to find that they truly are role models. Some of these ladies are younger than me, but still they are every bit as mature as someone as old as I am. Seeing that these girls are making something of themselves in the world gives me hope for the future generation! Now for the list of ladies that I find to be role model worthy!

Sarah Belle
Seriously who does not love her? She is hilarious, beautiful and let's be honest, has amazing style! Sarah seems to be a very genuine, smart and amazing girl who knows where she wants to go in life! Sarah is definitely my number one go to style guide!

College Prepster
College Prepester is the girl I aspire to be like! She is so classy, smart and beautiful! She has such a successful blog and career that is hard not to look to her as a role model! It would be such an honor to meet and talk with her one day about her success. Until then, I will hope to run into when I go to NYC!

Sarah Vickers
How could I have a list of role models and not include the preppiest prep ever, Sarah Vickers! When you think of classic prep Sarah should automatically come to mind! Classic New England prep Sarah, has amazing style and an amazing bow bracelet line with her soon to be husband, Keil.  Sarah is another woman that I would love to sit and talk with!

The loveliest ladies of all the prep community are wonderful role models! It would be such an honor to sit and talk fashion with these ladies!

Until next time

Spring Break Essentials

Spring break

It's almost that time of year! The weather is getting warmer and that means spring break is just around the corner! Of course my spring break isn't until April, I still have my spring essentials that I need to get together before then!
First, you need a cute bathing suit! Whether it's a one piece or a cute bikini, it is necessary to have one! Living close to the beach is beyond wonderful! I am never more than an hour or so away!
With your bathing suit you need a cover up. I always use my monogram PFG shirt, big tank or t shirt with some bright nike shorts. I always have something I case I start to burn I can throw on my shoulders! Life saver! Speaking of life savers, my hat always saves me from getting burnt on my face. I either have on my big sun hat or my ball cap. Always have a pair of sunglasses just in case!
To keep all your essentials in, you need a big beach bag! My bag is always full of magazines, sun tan lotion and extra snacks!
Chacos are a must! These shoes can get wet, be thrown on easily and are really cute! With their bright colors they are perfect for spring and summer.
Keeping hydrated is a must! Having a cooler to keep drinks and snacks in can be very handy! I love the Lilly Pulitzer ones!
After you're done with the pool or the beach, you need a cute dinner outfit! I am absolutely in love with the Lilly scallop seersucker shorts! Pair them with a white shirt and some white Jack Rodgers, you'll have a perfect outfit!

I hope you all have a great spring! Where are you going for spring break?

Wish List

Wish List

My ultimate wish list! These six items pictured above are what I would love to buy if I had unlimited cash right now, sadly being a teacher does not pay the best, so they have to stay on my wish list for a while.

Kate Spade Bow Bag
If anyone knows me they know I absolutely love bows! I have been obsessed with bows ever since I was a little girl, thanks mom :) This bag has such a classic look that it would go great with any outfit!

Lilly Pulitzer Elsa Top in Tusk in Sun Print
As my boyfriend can tell you, I have been obsessing over this top. I stood in the Lilly Pulitzer store and stared at it for a good fifteen minutes. This top it at the top of my wish list! I will save everything I can until I can afford it!

Black Short Hunter Boots
As I type this post it is raining outside, hence why I would love to have these boots. Here in Mobile it rains almost every day! These boots are very durable and reliable, definitely worth the money! This item is another that is on top of my list!

JCrew Necklace
I absolutely love the JCrew crystal necklaces! They add a since of sparkle to every outfit. You can dress them up or down, but they will always add to your outfit.

JCrew Check Shirt
These shirts go well in any season! Whether it is under a quilted vest in the fall or paired with scalloped shorts in the spring, these shirts will make any outfit look adorable! Pair this shirt with the crystal necklace for an extra pop of sparkle!

Lilly Pulitzer Tusk In Sun Iphone 5 Case
I am obsessed with Iphone cases! Before I got my 5s, I had around 15 for my 4s! This case features my favorite Lilly print, so of course I would love it! Added to this I would love the Ipad case in this print! So cute!

What's on your wish list?!

Southern Traditions

Being from the south, I am big on tradtions. Many people have any different traditions, whether it's eating at the grandparents after church on Sundays or following in the footsteps of past generations and coming out at the debutant ball. I found a list on Pinterest of southern traditions to keep alive, and I would like to share them with you and some statements and stories about each.

1.  Setting the table with real cloth napkins
Every Sunday after church when I was a little girl, we would go to my grandmother's house for lunch. It would never fail that we would have cloth napkins waitng at the table for us to use. It always made me feel fancy and classy getting to use the special napkins. Whenever I have my own home, I will most definitely use real cloth napkins.

2. Writing thank you notes
I don't know about you, but I always write thank you notes. I feel like it is just a necessity to thank the person or people that either gave you a gift, let you stay with them, or just did something nice. Of course you also have to have cute thank you notes! Thank you notes are one aspect of southern life that I will always keep in my life.

3. Saying sir and ma'am
Having good manners, in my opinion is the beys way to live. I have always and will always say sir and ma'am, even when I'm older. I feel that it is polite to address someone older then you as sir or ma'am.

4. Giving a stranger a helping hand
Being from the south you are always taught to be kind to others, no matter their circumstances. I feel like my heart is so big and I find so much joy in helping others because I am from the south. It's always a nice feeling to help others out when they are in a difficult spot.

5. Sitting on the porch and rocking for a spell
There is nothing like sitting on the porch watching the sun set while drinking sweet tea. There is something about just sitting still and staring at the peaceful sky, or talking to a
neighbor or friend you haven't seen in forever. Southerners are always looking for an excuse to talk!

6. Slow cooking all day long
I sure do love coming in from work and smelling that roast in the crockpot. Southerners are all about some quick cooking that will be ready when you get home. Whether it's a roast, chicken or chili it will always smell delicious when you walk in your house.

7. Setting out cheese straws and sweet tea for company
Personally I do not like cheese straws, but they are enjoyed through out the south. Now, sweet tea on the other hand is another story. I could drink sweet tea any time, anywhere! I really don't understand how anyone could not like sweet tea!

8. Quilting, crocheting
I am not a big quilter, but when I see them done they are quite beautiful! My grandmother would always make me something each year that she hand made. There is something about a handmade blanket, scarf or anything especially made for you!

9. Pears go with everything
I truly have to agree with this statement! I never go anywhere without my pearl earrings on! Put pearls with any outfit and it will be complete! Pearls are so classy and a classic piece of jewelry. My motto is you should dress where you want to be, not where you are! That advice was courtesy of my sweet boyfriend.

Being southern is a privilege and a state of mind, so no matter where you live you can always be in a southern state of mind.

Statement necklaces are officially my new obsession! You can take any plain outfit and spice it up with a pop of sparkle.  There are so many places you can find these statement necklaces. JCrew has some fabulous options, but if you are on a budget, Versona also has some great options. I went in the Versona in the local mall and saw some beautiful pieces; So many options!
